Oddworld Adventures 2 for Game Boy once again sees our hero Abe having to
rescue his fellow Mudokons from the Glukkon empire.
Although much of the storyline is based around that of Abe's Exoddus, however it
is in a slightly cut down form to suit the shorter game play that is usual in
pocket systems.
The game has two difficulty levels - easy and normal, to suit different skill
levels of game players. The normal setting has 24 levels and 31 Mudokons to
save. The easy setting is a cut-down version of the normal setting with only
selected levels featured. This setting has only 13 Mudokons to rescue.
Like Abe's Exoddus, the game begins in Rupture Farms, but only for a brief
period which mainly teaches the game-player the concepts of the game. From there
Abe travels to the Mudomo and Mundachee Vaults (referred to simply as the Scrab
Vaults) before returning to the industrial world of Glukkons and Sligs to
complete his mission and destroy SoulStorm Brewery.
Oddworld Adventures 2 is the first Oddworld Game Boy game to be in color, and is
backwards compatible with older Game Boy systems.
The game includes game speak (limited to hello, follow me, wait and work) and
the ability to possess both enemies and your own farts.
Although not as challenging as the PlayStation and PC versions of the game,
Oddworld Adventures is a fun game, which will still make you think before being
able to solve the puzzles.
